The Salva India office recently played host to the people at Shishur Sevay as part of its ongoing community effort. Shishur Sevay is a specialist orphanage that serves as a community based, family type home, and is a model of non-institutional care of orphaned girls.

It is currently managed and operated Dr. Michelle Harrison, who is the 'mother' of 13 children who live permanently at Shishur Sevay. Out of the 13, four girls suffer from cerebral palsy and receive special in house therapy.

Michelle stays with the girls, and provides them food, shelter, education and most importantly care and love. The day was spent entertaining and educating the girls on the various roles at Salva and showing them how an office functions since the girls had never been to a actual office.

The Geology team with Biplob Chatterjee as its 'captain' took them through different videos on coal formation, gold and crystals. Goody bags were also distributed. It was a fantastic day and Salva looks forward to continuing to assist those less fortunate.
